Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are a thin but very strong shell of porcelain made to fit over the visible surface of your tooth. Dental veneers are made in a dental laboratory and are bonded to your teeth with resin cement.
Veneers should last for many years; but they can chip or break just like your own teeth. Small chips can usually be repaired but sometimes a new veneer may need to be fitted.

Reasons You May Require Porcelain Veneers
There are many reasons why porcelain veneers may be prescribed by your dentist, here are a few on the common ones
Genetics: You slight crowding in your front teeth and may not want braces. Alternatively, you may have gaps, discoloured spots or unusually shaped teeth.
Trauma: You have had an accident at some point, and may have chipped or cracked your front teeth or required root canal work. Also a tooth may have become grey.
Childhood antibiotics: Although not as common these days, certain antibiotics given to you as a child may have left horizontal stains on your front teeth. In most cases, bleaching is ineffective and porcelain veneers have been found to be very effective in this situation.
Wear and Tear: Our teeth do wear down with age. Not only can this impact on your self-confidence but you may also have difficulties chewing and digesting.
PROCEDURE
Creating and attaching a set of porcelain veneers involves removing a small amount of enamel from your tooth, usually the same thickness as the veneer. We will take an impression and send it to a dental technician, who makes the veneer in a laboratory.
Each veneer is then bonded to your tooth to make it strong and natural-looking.
